Tulsa man arrested in connection with shooting in Oakhurst

A Tulsa man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in Oakhurst earlier this week, according to the Creek County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 4th, CCSO says they responded to a shooting call in Oakurst. Upon arrival, deputies say they found a man who had been shot in the head. They tracked blood trails into the area to the victim’s house.

According to a statement from CCSO, deputies identified Popeye Lee Nolan, 23, as a person of interest after speaking with the victim and several neighbors. CCSO put out a statement on Facebook letting the public know they were looking for Nolan.

A day later, on January 5, Nolan was located and arrested for “shooting with intent to kill,” and “possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.”

The victim is said to be in stable condition, according to CCSO.

The Creek County Sheriff’s Office also issued a note of thanks to “the community and law enforcement agencies who assisted during this investigation.”

This is an arrest, not a conviction.
