Police have arrested and charged two suspects in connection with a 2019 Sapulpa soldier murder case that has gone unsolved.
On Wednesday, February 25, the Killeen, TX, police department announced that detectives had filed charges against Demarcus Nobles, 28, and Darion Lequan Brown, 27, with the murder of Gregory (Wedel) Morales.
Get Caught Up
The remains of Greg Morales were found in a shallow grave in Killeen, TX, on June 19th, 2020. He’d been missing since August 20th, 2019, and at the time was presumed to be a deserter from the U.S. Army in nearby Fort Hood.

By July 15th, Morales had been removed from the deserter list and fully reinstated, following an autopsy that determined his death to be a homicide. By July 28th, he was brought home with a hero’s welcome and a warm reception to a grateful family.
The family has endured the long and frustrating process of trying to bring Morales’ killer(s) to justice. Updates have been few and far between until this week.
Brown was served while in custody at Parker County Jail for unrelated charges. Nobles was arrested in Harris County. According to Morales’ mother, neither of the men is a known associate of Morales.
Investigators have long believed that foul play was involved, and Morales’ widow, Penny Morales, was arrested on animal cruelty charges in 2020, and was arrested on aggravated robbery charges after she reportedly robbed her date by gunpoint in 2021.
