As the triple-digit temps have many of us looking forward to fall, there are still some great events to look forward to during these waning days of summer. Here’s a look at what we found happening in Sapulpa this weekend.

Tax-Free Weekend
Friday, August 7th kicks off the annual tax-free weekend that heralds a great back-to-school shopping spree for clothes, shoes and more. Sapulpa Times published a list of the best places in Sapulpa to shop local for tax-free weekend. Be sure to visit these great local boutiques and shops, and keep your tax-free dollars local!
Saturday, August 8th
Battle on 66 Highland Games and Scottish Festival
Saturday, Aug. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Creek County Fairgrounds, 17808 W. State Highway 66 in Kellyville. The inaugural festival will feature traditional Highland Games, a Scottish clan village, vendors, concessions, an open-to-all Husafell Stone carry, a picnic supper and a Celtic folk concert by Ravens Three. Admission is $10 at the gate or $8 in advance; children under 3 are free. The picnic supper requires an additional ticket. Spectators may bring lawn chairs for the outdoor competitions, while several activities will be held inside covered or air-conditioned buildings. Get more information here.
End of Summer Reading Bash
Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bartlett-Carnegie Sapulpa Public Library, 27 W. Dewey Ave. Celebrate the conclusion of the Summer Reading Program with grand-prize drawings, snacks, refreshments, games and activities. More information here.
Pet Photo Fundraiser at Rock Creek Herbs
Come meet us in person or sign-up online to have your pet feature in our 2027 Pet Calendar Contest starting June 1. Make your pet a star while helping pets in need. $6 entry. $1 a vote. Most votes=calendar stars! More information here.
Sapulpa’s Great Route 66 Giveaway
Saturday, Aug. 8, at three locations in downtown Sapulpa. Free drawings for collectible pieces of original Route 66 pavement will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Gasoline Alley Classics, 24 N. Main St.; 2:30 p.m. at the Sapulpa Historical Society Museum, 100 E. Lee Ave.; and 5:30 p.m. at Roots, 12 S. Water St. Tickets are available at each participating location, but attendees must be present to win. Each location issues separate tickets, and individuals may win only once. Visitors are encouraged to explore Sapulpa’s Route 66 attractions, shops, museums and restaurants between drawings. More information on Facebook.
Creek County Speedway
As per usual at the Creek County Speedway, there’s the promise of fast cars, good times and and cheap fun for a select group each week. This Saturday, City Employees, EMTs and Nurses get into the stands free. See the flyer below for more details.

- Kellyville is having their own Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 8th. Open to Kellyville residents only, but will include everything from free vaccines and hygiene products to food, clothing and even haircuts! See the flyer below for more information.
