Kiefer, Sapulpa reeling after death of teen

The communities of both Sapulpa and Kiefer are hurting right now. After the tragic death of 15-year-old Hadley Wood in a car accident on Thursday, Kiefer in particular has stepped in to help hold the hurting Wood family following the tragedy. In true community fashion, we’ve watched as others have started fundraisers, set up GoFundMe Pages, and today they’ll be working to hold a prayer vigil for Hadley at the Kiefer Football Field. City Hall has first stakeholders meeting for Dewey Streetscape Redesign

Also on Thursday evening, Sapulpa City Hall invited business owners, building owners, and anyone else who was interested over to the City Hall chambers to talk about what’s coming after the Christmas Chute: The start of the Dewey Streetscape plan, which we voted on as part of the 2023 GO Bond. The reality of the situation is setting in as local business owners are preparing to deal with the possibility that access to their storefronts might be severely restricted for the next several months after the Christmas Chute as construction carries on, and several city organizations, including Sapulpa Main Street and Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce, are teaming up with the City of Sapulpa to work with businesses to make the best of the situation. “Progress is painful, but the result will be amazing,” they said. The next meeting is expected to be on December 7th at 8:30 am, after the bids have been placed for construction contracts, so that answers regarding the process of the construction can be more confidently explained by the contractors doing the work.
