Sapulpa residents fight duplex construction, say it will increase traffic and crime

The Sapulpa Metro Area Planning Commission voted Tuesday to approve the rezoning of 40 lots near West Fife Avenue and North Gray Street, which would allow developers to build single family homes and duplexes.

The Sapulpa City Council still has to approve the plan, but the developer is hoping to use the land to build 28 duplexes and 20 single family homes.

Some people who live in the area do not want the duplexes, because they say the roads will not be able to handle the extra traffic, and they think it will increase crime.
