Sapulpa Fire Chief concludes 33-year career with Sapulpa Fire Department, is recognized at City Council

Surrounded by proud family and respectful colleagues, at Monday’s City Council meeting, Fire Chief David Taylor received a City resolution from Mayor Craig Henderson commending him and showing appreciation for his service.

Sapulpa Fire Chief Taylor, flanked by Vice Mayor Carla Gunn on the left and Mayor Craig Henderson on the right, was given a proclamation and standing ovation at Monday’s City Council meeting for his 33 years of service.

Visibly moved, Taylor introduced his family, including wife, son, and grandson, and thanked City Manager Joan Riley for her invaluable support during his tenure as Chief.

The resolution states: “David Taylor has worked faithfully for the City of Sapulpa starting in the Fire Department in August 1988 and served with dedication during his entire career. David Taylor has had numerous accomplishments throughout his career in Sapulpa…the City Council of the City of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, hereby extends its greatest appreciation, praise and admiration to a True Leader, Fire Chief David Taylor, for thirty-three years of service to the City.”
