In a sudden turn of events, The Millwood Falcons will be traveling to Kellyville to play their game, originally scheduled for Friday, the following day on Saturday, October 3rd, at 7:00 pm.

Kellyville High School Principal Danny Wood confirmed the change to Sapulpa Times on Wednesday afternoon. Initially, Millwood had canceled their game after Oklahoma City Public Schools had made the decision to “push pause” on all of their athletic events. “Even though Millwood is not part of Oklahoma City, they followed suit with Oklahoma City to pause their athletics due to COVID concerns,” Wood said. “Since then, they’ve determined their football team is clean, and so they requested to come here and play.”

Kellyville Athletic Director Jim Upshaw said the same, adding that “since it was a district game, the only option was to play on Saturday or postpone to later, possibly a Monday or Tuesday night. They chose to go with Saturday, and asked to come here.”

Kellyville is currently undefeated with four wins so far this season, and Millwood lost their first game against Heritage Hall, but came back in a big way against Douglass the following week and won 35-0. They were scheduled to then play Clinton and then Prague, but both games was canceled due to COVID exposure. Saturday’s game against Kellyville will be their first one after quarantine.

KVRising’s Robby Jones calls the upcoming game a possible “top ten football game,” in a phone call to Sapulpa Times on Wednesday. “(Millwood) is a perennial state contender,” Jones said. “They have a long history of state titles in basketball and football.”

KVRising will feature an exclusive interview with at least two Kellyville players at the Jim Allen Press Box live at 6:00 pm before the game. Both the interviews and the game can be streamed live on the KVRising Youtube Channel, and will be broadcast here at SapulpaTimes.com as well.
