Mother’s Day Gift Basket Silent Auction Bidding from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Sapulpa Public Library, 27 West Dewey Avenue. Friends of the Library Silent Auction of Mother’s Day Baskets. Bidding begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23 and ends at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9. Baskets are at the Library and may be viewed and bid upon there. Items need to be paid for and picked up by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10. Your financial support helps fund programs such as the Summer Reading Program, Adulting 101, Storytime, Game Day, LEGO Play, Storytime in Spanish and more! Ask an Expert: Gardening Session at 5 p.m. at the Caring Community Friends Garden, 14 West Burnham Avenue in Sapulpa. Got a gardening question? Come ask the experts! Sapulpa Artists’ Guild Paint Classes from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Sapulpa Senior Citizen Center, 515 East Dewey Avenue. The class is free and help is available from art teacher Sam Houghton. The group works in oil, acrylic, and watercolor as well as pastels. There is an optional $20 per year membership donation. You may also visit the class before joining. OK2A Sapulpa Meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Cafe USA, 725 South Mission Street. This event is hosted by the Oklahoma Second Amendment Association. They meet on the first Thursday of each month. Friday, May 3

Sapulpa Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary Yard Sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 800 East Dewey Avenue. This is part of the 100 Mile Yard Sale. Come by to support your local fire department! Garage Sale from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa, 111 South Oak Street. This indoor sale is hosted by the Blue Star Mothers’ Chapter 10. All proceeds will go to complete their missions, which include sending care packages to deployed troops as well as assisting veterans in need. 100 Mile Yard Sale Tour from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in 13 towns in central and northeastern Oklahoma, including Sapulpa. This sale happens every year during the first weekend of May and is coordinated through the Chamber of Commerce of Cleveland, Oklahoma. Kiwanis Annual Golf Tournament from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sapulpa Municipal Golf Course, 1200 West Dewey Avenue. This is a four-man scramble tournament with an 11 a.m. lunch and registration and a noon shotgun start. Walk This May from noon to 1 p.m. at Kelly Lane Park in Sapulpa. Presented by the Creek County Health Department, this is a call to walk in the park for an hour every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in May. You can bring your lunch, your friend, or your child! Annual Petsense Adopt-a-Thon with Sapulpa Furry Friends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Petsense Sapulpa, 315 East Taft. SFF will have some of their dogs, cats and kittens available for adoption at this event. All the animals will have received age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered prior to adopting. Stress Management Classes from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce, 101 East Dewey. This will be an upcoming series of classes that will be held on Saturdays at the Sapulpa Chamber starting on April 20 and continuing for 4 weeks until May 11.  The classes will teach participants over a dozen techniques that can be used on a daily basis to reduce stress levels. You can expect to be able to effect change even after the first classroom experience! The instructor and owner of Success Skills, Ron Watkins, is a Stress Coach, an NGH Certified Consulting Hypnotist and an (NLP) Neuro – Linguistic Programming Trainer, with over 30 years of experience. Beginner Crochet Class from 5 to 6 p.m. at The Painting Gypsy Studio, 619 North Mission in Sapulpa. This class is $10 per person and is Crochet 101! They will teach you how to chain and single stitch. You will need a 5.5 mm crochet hook and 1 skein of size 4 acrylic yarn (a solid color is preferred and the lighter in color the better). C.A.P.: Child Abduction Prevention Class from 3 to 5 p.m. at Crimson Sparrow Martial Arts, 609 South Main Street Suites B and C in Sapulpa. Hosted by CSMA and COBRA Self-Defense Sapulpa. Young children do not have the same physical capabilities as adults to fight off attackers; let us give your child the skills to do just that – to defend themselves.

At our C.A.P. seminar students will participate in and learn who can be a threat, how to respond to a threat, what not to do and why, physical techniques against an adult attacker, how to verbalize in a threatening situation, abduction prevention techniques, vehicle abduction prevention, role playing scenarios, and 911 scenario drills. Fifty-Five and Alive Workout at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Faith Fitness Center at Faith Church, 1901 West 171st Street South in Glenpool. The Faith Fitness Center at Faith Church has opened and it’s free to everyone! If you’re 55+ join them for this new class. Route 66 Smokin’ Guns 2019 Oklahoma State Championship on Friday, May 3 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Saturday, May 4 (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and Sunday, May 5 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) at the Creek County Fairgrounds, 17808 West Highway 66 in Kellyville.
