What to Do This Weekend (June 22 – June 24)

Fresh off the awesomesauce that was yesterday’s Rock The Block event (be sure to join us for the next one on the third Thursday in July!) we’ve got the events happening this weekend to keep the good times rolling. Let’s get started:

Saturday, June 23

Sapulpa Main Street’s Route 66 Farmers Market from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 222 East Dewey Avenue in Sapulpa. They will have lots of fresh produce, baked goods, fresh eggs, local beef, homemade items, and more! 918 Rockin’ Summer Hunt at 10 a.m. at Kellylane Park at 1151 South Park Street in Sapulpa. This is 918 Rocks Sapulpa’s First Annual summer rock hunt! Bring your buckets; it’s just like an egg hunt, except you will be hunting painted rocks! There are thousands of rocks to be found and there will be prizes in each age group, up to 12 years old. There will even be a special needs area for the kiddos that need it. This is a free event!

They will also be accepting donations of pet food and pet care items at the hunt to benefit the Sapulpa Animal Shelter. Their most needed items right now are dog food (not canned), kitty litter, and 32-gallon trash bags. For more information, please visit the Facebook event page.

Cash “Money” Lawrence Memorial Poker Run. Check in is at 10:30 a.m. at the Sapulpa Elks Lodge at 24 South Poplar Street in Sapulpa. All proceeds will benefit Kellyville Middle School Basketball. The route goes from Sapulpa, to Cushing, to Mannford, to Sand Springs, and back to Sapulpa again, around 5 p.m. $20 a bike, $5 a passenger, 50/50 raffle, and food at the last stop! Sapulpa Shelter and SFF Adoption Event at the Shelter from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 515 East Fife Street in Sapulpa. Please come out to the Sapulpa shelter and adopt a furry friend or just visit the homeless babies. $55 for dogs and $45 for cats which covers the spay and neuter plus vaccinations! Sunday, June 24

MVP Swing Out Dance of Sapulpa at the Booker T. Washington Recreation Center at 209 North Gray Street in Sapulpa. Beginners start at 5:30 p.m. and will go until 6:30 p.m.; beginner/intermediate begins at 6:30 p.m. and will go until 7:30 p.m. All dancers get in for $10 an hour. Dancing is for all generations, will be fun and social entertainment, and is good exercise! Private lessons provided by appointment by Howard “Dallayz” Barnes: 918-951-5466. Saturday, June 23

Kellyville Farmer Market and Swap from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Kellyville in the lot behind Kellyville Cafe. Vendors, they are charging $5 for a 10X10 space and will also have table available to rent. They will welcome any locally grown and locally produced items and small livestock and poultry.
