Friday, July 27

2018 Fiber Christmas in July on Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Creek County Fairgrounds at 17806 West Highway 66 in Kellyville. This is fiber, as in the material for art, not the stuff you eat! This is a festival that includes all types of fiber arts from knitting to spinning to felting and weaving. The event “encompasses every fiber and yarn type available from commercial yarns to fluffy fleeces to funky handspun yarns,” and hosts vendors from states all around the area with all manner of fiber tools. 2018 marks their 12th year to have this event. Saturday, July 28

Sapulpa Main Street’s Route 66 Farmers Market from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 222 East Dewey Avenue in Sapulpa. They will have lots of fresh produce, baked goods, fresh eggs, local beef, homemade items, and more! Come spend the morning with the farmers at the market! Annual Fit Sapulpa Float Trip from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., meeting at Fit Sapulpa at 501 West Dewey. This is an adult-only trip to float down the Illinois River. They asked for prior reservations to rent rafts, so please contact them to see if they have room if you would like to attend. They will be floating out of War Eagle, which has bunkhouse cabins available for 10-16 people if you would like to get a group together and stay. RV sites are available as well. Grand Opening Celebration of Petsense from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 323 East Taft Avenue in Sapulpa. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, giveaways, discounts and more, including dogs and cats available for adoption from Sapulpa Furry Friends. Pets are welcome! Auditions: Agatha Christie’s A Murder Is Announced at the Sapulpa Community Theater from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  at 124 South Water Street. Auditions will be held Saturday, July 28 at 2 p.m. and Monday, July 30 at 6:30 p.m. and will consist of cold readings from the script. Actors are needed for all roles: 2 males ages 18-30, 3 males ages 30 and up, 2 females ages 18-30, and 5 females ages 40 and up. The production will be directed by Chuck Osuna. Christmas in July Craft & Vendor Show, hosted by Mounds Parent Teacher Organization, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mounds Elementary School 15 West 14th Street in Mounds. There will be direct sales, jewelry, boutique clothing, handmade crafts, food and more. Entry is free so come out and do some shopping while helping your school. For every $5 spent at the show you will be entered to win a gift basket with items from all of their different vendors. Sounds like a fun and beneficial way to spend a hot Saturday! Pretty As a Princess Paint Party from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Sister-Sister Paint Parties and more at 3400 West 51st Street in Keifer. Take your own little princess with you to paint princess crowns, get a princess cookie, and to meet a real, live princess (Ariel) for story time! The cost is $25 per person.
