What to do this weekend in Sapulpa (Oct 9-11 and BONUS!)

It appears that the word for the weekend is FOOD. Nearly every event we have is some fundraiser or fall special for food. You think you ate a lot when you went to the Tulsa State Fair? Yeah, right.

Speaking of food, we’ve got a brand new event that will have you tapping the brakes for lunch on Tuesdays in October. Sapulpa Main Street has been listening to the community, and your calls have been answered. See the bonus event at the bottom!

Friday

Sapulpa Chieftains face off against the Sand Springs Sandites in their annual “Hwy 97 Rivalry” that dates back almost a century. Kickoff is at 7:30pm at Sapulpa’s Collins Stadium.

Ovations Studio and Gym is having a Spaghetti Lunch at Signs of the Times from 11-1 and a Spaghetti Dinner from 4:30-6:45. There will also be a silent auction. All proceeds help competition performers raise money to perform at Disney World in June 2016. Tickets are $6.

Sapulpa Boys Basketball is hosting a BBQ Tailgate Party in the High School Parking lot at 5:30pm. A “Chieftain Special” (Sandwich, chips and a drink) will set you back only $7.00

Sapulpa Daylight Donuts will once again open it’s doors prior to the game to serve you fresh funnel cakes for only $2.00

Over Edukated is having “Open Paint with JP…Couples Night!” from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Full details on that here.

Saturday

Support locally-grown produce and products at the Sapulpa Main Street Route 66 Farmers Market. The Farmer’s Market will continue to run each Saturday through the end of the month. It’s stationed at the Sapulpa Court House parking lot. Current vendors provide a variety, from eggs to produce to soaps and even Christmas decorations. More information here.

Miss the painting class on Friday? Not to worry, Over Edukated has 2 more on Saturday, one titled “Morning Mist” from 2pm-4pm, and another called “Fall Birch Trees” at 7pm.

It’s not fall if you don’t have Sapulpa Cub Scouts selling their popcorn. This Saturday, they’ll be at Ace Hardware from 2-4pm. The money they raise pays for their pack activities, and honestly, the popcorn isn’t bad. Plus, it’s been almost 24 hours since you had that funnel cake.

Sunday

Sunday, we’re either in church or sleeping off our food coma. Nothing to see here, folks.

Near Sapulpa

The J.O.M. Bingo/Indian Taco Fundraiser is happening on Saturday at Kellyville High School Cafeteria. Tacos and a drink are $5.00 and Bingo starts at 6pm!

Every Friday and Saturday in October, there’s a Haunted House in the Town West Shopping Center that opens up at 8pm.

Saturday October 10th, take your family to Black Gold Park in Glenpool and enjoy the free food, candy and inflatables, courtesy of Church on the Move as they celebrate their annual Fall Festival. Play your cards right and you could score an Xbox One or a set of Beats Headphones!
