This Earth Day weekend is full of fun and family-friendly events including our annual Citywide Cleanup, a new 5K run, Chieftain sports, a movie in the park, among other fun events. See below for detailed information and links. As always, we hope to see you out and about in our fair city!  

Friday – April 20

46th Annual Tulsa Swap Meet at the Creek County Fairgrounds – Come shop over 200 vendors from 8 a.m. until dark on Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st at the Creek Co. Fairgrounds! Creek County Speedway’s ASCS Red River Region and Wingless Sprints of Oklahoma Speed Race -Creek County Speedway located near Sapulpa, Oklahoma is a tight little 1/4 mile dirt track that breathes exciting racing! For tonight’s event gates open at 5 p.m., and the main event at 8 p.m. Costs are $30 for a Pit Pass, Regular Adult Tickets $15, kids 10-14 $6, and kids under 10 are free. A full concession stand is available (prices shown on their website, listed below).

Saturday – April 21

Sapulpa Citywide Cleanup—Hosted by the City of Sapulpa, the cleanup is located at 8801 West 100th Street in Sapulpa and begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.

Participants must provide the letter posted on the FaceBook event page (see link below), and a copy of their Sapulpa utility bill OR a valid ID with a Sapulpa address.

  • Participants Must Unload Their Own Debris
  • NO COMMERCIAL TRASH OF ANY KIND
  • NO CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS
  • NOT ACCEPTED: Paint, Pesticides, Car Parts, Shingles, Drywall, Concrete, Asbestos Products
  • NO HAZARDOUS WASTE
  • ACCEPTED: Appliances (w/ motors & doors removed) lawnmowers/weed eaters (with motors removed) furniture, carpet, yard waste, brush

First Annual Heart of Route 66 POKER RUN THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO NEXT WEEKEND DUE TO WEATHER.

Youth Indian Taco Sale – Pickett Chapel United Methodist Church’s Youth Group is raising money for a conference and regional camp this summer! Go down to 17610 South Hickory in Sapulpa from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to try some delicious, fresh NDN tacos! Cost is $8.50 per plate which includes a taco, dessert, and drink.

Trooper Leon Bench Blue Run—The Trooper Leon Bench Foundation is hosting the first annual Trooper Leon Bench Blue Run from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Located at the Sapulpa VFW Post 1320 at 1201 West Dewey Avenue, the event will consist of a 5K run/walk and a one-mile Fun Run. The Fun Run will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the 5K will begin at 8 p.m.

The 5K race/walk will be a glow run! All runners will have blue glow sticks and the course will be marked with blue lights. The race will take place on historic Route 66 behind the VFW. The start and finish line will be the Rock Creek Bridge. The cost for the one-mile fun is $25 and the 5K is $35. Registration will increase $5 if registering on-site.

Other activities will include food trucks, a silent auction and raffle, live music, and police vehicles for display.

Sunday – April 22

West Side Christian Academy Chili Cook-Off and Basket Auction—Located at the West Side Free Will Baptist Church at 1403 South Cheyenne Road in Sapulpa, the event begins at noon on Sunday. Half the baskets are a part of a silent auction, and the other half will be auctioned live beginning at 1 p.m. The auction will end by 1:30 p.m.

This is WSCA’s first big fundraiser. Proceeds will go directly to the school to help with supplies, scholarships, and student activities. The school’s mission is to educate students from a Biblical viewpoint.

Chili is $7 for adults, $3 for kids ages 4-18, and children under 4 may eat for free!
