What to Do This Weekend (August 30 – September 2)

Thursday, August 30

The Burning of George at 7 p.m. at the Woodlawn Annex in Sapulpa. Come show your support for our football team at this event — it’s a Chieftain tradition! Additionally, the Sapulpa Boys Basketball team will have hot dogs, chips, candy, and drinks available for purchase during the event. What a great way to support both our football and basketball teams!

Sapulpa Middle School and 9th Grade Football Games versus Owasso Red at Owasso at 6 p.m. (6th – 8th grades) and 7:30 p.m. (9th grade).

Friday, August 31

Neither Wolf Nor Dog Movie Premiere at B&B Sapulpa Cinema 8, 1245 New Sapulpa Road. Come see this “landmark” independent film before it stops playing! For more information on the film and additional showtimes, please visit the Facebook event page here.

B’Ball & BBQ Tailgate Party from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (or until sold out) on the northeast lawn of the Chieftain Center entrance. Get a BBQ sandwich (pulled pork, brisket, or bologna), chips, and a cookie for just $10! Make it a two-meat sandwich for $12. This is a fundraiser for Sapulpa Boys’ Basketball.

Sapulpa High School Varsity Football Game versus Edison at 7 p.m. at the George F. Collins stadium in Sapulpa. Come root for your Big Blue as we take on the Edison Eagles!

Saturday, September 1

Sapulpa Main Street’s Route 66 Farmers Market from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 222 East Dewey Avenue in Sapulpa. They will have lots of fresh produce, baked goods, fresh eggs, local beef, homemade items, and more. Come spend the morning with the farmers at the market! Rock Creek Folk Festival from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Kelly Lane Park in Sapulpa. Hosted by Sapulpa Parks and Recreation, Sapulpa Arts, the Oklahoma Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts, the event features Kalyn Fay, Jason Scott Band, Ken Pomeroy, Beau Roberson, and Zach Winters. Sunday, September 2

Revival with Evangelist Rodney Woodcock at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at South Heights Baptist Church Sapulpa, 23 East Wells Boulevard. This is an old-fashioned revival with old-fashioned music, old-fashioned joy, and old-fashioned Bible preaching. Come experience church like it used to be! This is a kid-friendly event.
