What to Do This Weekend (April 25 – April 28)

This weekend make sure you don’t miss the student art show at the high school, yoga classes, the rummage sale, or karaoke at Torchy’s!


Thursday, April 25

2019 Annual Sapulpa Student Art Show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the old high school gym. Don’t miss our talented middle school, junior high, and high school students’ “incredible” and “amazing” pieces! Some are even for sale!

Creek County Literacy Program’s 7th Annual Indoor Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 15 North Poplar Street in Sapulpa, just behind the Public Library. 100% of the proceeds from the sale benefit the programs of CCLP. They will have a little bit of everything, including: Household and kitchen items, holiday decorations, home décor, linens, small furniture, knick knacks, craft materials, books, electronics, toys, bikes, games, baby gear, sports equipment, camping/outdoor gear, and exercise equipment. Ask an Expert: Gardening Session at 5 p.m. at the Caring Community Friends Garden, 14 West Burnham Avenue in Sapulpa. Got a gardening question? Come ask the experts! Sapulpa Artists’ Guild Paint Classes from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Sapulpa Senior Citizen Center, 515 East Dewey Avenue. The class is free and help is available from art teacher Sam Houghton. The group works in oil, acrylic, and watercolor as well as pastels. There is an optional $20 per year membership donation. You may also visit the class before joining. April Showers Canvas Class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Painting Gypsy Studio, 619 North Mission in Sapulpa. For $25 per person, this is a step-by-step instructor-led painting class. For more information, visit the Facebook page here.

Business Professionals Bowling League on Thursdays nights at 6:30 p.m. There will  918-be 4-member teams, any combination of men and women. The cost is $12 per person, per week. Saturday, April 27

Sapulpa Boys Basketball 2nd Annual Battle on the Hardwood Two Day Event at Sapulpa High School. $200 per team. 1st grade through high school; boys and girls. Over 90 teams participated last year! Chevron Crochet Class from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at The Painting Gypsy Studio, 619 North Mission in Sapulpa. The cost is $10 per person. Sapulpa Touchdown Club Car Wash Fundraiser from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Route 66 Car Wash, 219 North Mission Street. Wash Codes: 208 (Basic), 209 (Best), 210 (Complete), or 211 (Ultimate).

Maverick’s Poker Run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; check in at the Creek County Courthouse, 222 East Dewey Avenue in Sapulpa. Kickstands up at 10:15 a.m. Food, drinks, and music at last stop (also the Creek County Courthouse). Last bike in at 3 p.m. Hosted by Four Kings LE/MC and Sapulpa FOP Lodge 94, and all proceeds to benefit a Sapulpa police officer family member with medical bills. The route will cover Creek, Osage, Pawnee, and Tulsa Counties. Costs are Rider for $20, passenger for $10, high hand for $200, and low hand $100. World Tai Chi Day at 10:30 a.m. at Kelly Lane Park in Sapulpa. After enjoying this lovely outdoor class, join everyone for a reception immediately following at the Sapulpa Senior Community Center at 515 East Dewey Avenue. We Like Our Coffey Strong Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Isabella’s Collections, 201 East Dewey Avenue in Sapulpa. 20% of the day’s sales will go to Sapulpa Police Officer Glenn Coffey and family to help with medical bills due to his liver failure and for his upcoming liver transplant. Isabella’s is offering awesome custom t-shirts in a few different designs and colors. They are $8 for sizes XS-XL, $10 for 2X, $12 for 3X, and so on. Tons of color choices too! Sapulpa Head Start Spring Carnival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 404 South Walnut Street. Game and food tickets are 5 for $1; all games are 1 ticket but food items vary. The Raffle tickets are $1 and you can put the ticket on any item. The drawing of all items will be at 1 p.m.and you do not need to be present to win! Stress Management Classes from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce, 101 East Dewey. This will be an upcoming series of classes that will be held on Saturdays at the Sapulpa Chamber starting on April 20 and continuing for 4 weeks until May 11.  The classes will teach participants over a dozen techniques that can be used on a daily basis to reduce stress levels. You can expect to be able to effect change even after the first classroom experience! The instructor and owner of Success Skills, Ron Watkins, is a Stress Coach, an NGH Certified Consulting Hypnotist and an (NLP) Neuro – Linguistic Programming Trainer, with over 30 years of experience. Fifty-Five and Alive Workout at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Faith Fitness Center at Faith Church, 1901 West 171st Street South in Glenpool. The Faith Fitness Center at Faith Church has opened and it’s free to everyone! If you’re 55+ join them for this new class. Glenpool’s 5th Annual Black Gold Car Show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at Faith Church, 1901 West 171st Street South (171st and Highway 75) in Glenpool. Last year’s show had 155 participants and the proceeds of nearly $10K benefited Mercy Missions II. MMII will benefit again this year but the new location is just off the highway and will have much more room for parking, vendors, food trucks and the general public.
