What to Do This Weekend (April 19 – April 21)

Among the egg hunts, Good Friday and Holy Saturday events, and Easter morning services, this weekend also boasts a vintage motorcycle show, a classic car show, barrel racing, live music, and even karaoke!


Friday, April 19

Walk This May from noon to 1 p.m. at Kelly Lane Park in Sapulpa. Presented by the Creek County Health Department, this is a call to walk in the park for an hour every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in May. You can bring your lunch, your friend, or your child! Sapulpa High School Soccer versus Owasso at the Sapulpa Soccer Fields. J.V. Girls play at 3:30 p.m., J.V. Boys play at 4:30 p.m., Varsity Girls play at 6 p.m., and Varsity Boys play at 8 p.m. Also, it’s Senior Night!

Community Good Friday Service from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at Crosspointe AG Church, 450 East Speer Avenue in Sapulpa. This event is sponsored by the Sapulpa Ministerial Alliance, Crosspointe AG Church, the Sapulpa Herald, Sapulpa Laundry, and Canyon Road Baptist Church. Good Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 1420 East Dewey in Sapulpa. This is the Friday before Easter Sunday, on which the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated in the Christian Church.

Photos with Princesses from 2 to 6 p.m. with Pixie Dust Parties at the Box Portrait Gallery in Sapulpa, 120 East Dewey Avenue. Bring your kids by to take pictures with their favorite princesses! Our Apple Princess and Snow Queen, along with a special guest, will be visiting to take beautiful, professional pictures with your little royals. Easter Egg Hunt from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sapulpa First Church of God’s Unity Park, 1011 East Hastain Avenue. This egg hunt is for babies up to 12 year olds. Easter in the Park hosted by Triumph Worship Center from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Black & Gold Park in Glenpool, on West 144th Street. Join them for their annual Easter in the Park event! There will be free hot dogs and drinks, face painting, inflatables, games for the kids, and a 10,000+ Egg Hunt! Stress Management Classes from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce, 101 East Dewey. This will be an upcoming series of classes that will be held on Saturdays at the Sapulpa Chamber starting on April 20 and continuing for 4 weeks until May 11.  The classes will teach participants over a dozen techniques that can be used on a daily basis to reduce stress levels. You can expect to be able to effect change even after the first classroom experience! The instructor and owner of Success Skills, Ron Watkins, is a Stress Coach, an NGH Certified Consulting Hypnotist and an (NLP) Neuro – Linguistic Programming Trainer, with over 30 years of experience. H.O.P.E. Community Outreach Center Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 2:30 p.m. at the Booker T. Washington Rec Center, 209 North Gray Street in Sapulpa. In addition to the egg hunt, they will have food, prizes, golden eggs, and more! Everyone is welcome!

Barrett Lewis Acoustic Show & Backwoods BBQ from 6 to 11 p.m. at VFW Post 1320 in Sapulpa, 1201 West Dewey. Head over to our local VFW for some outstanding BBQ followed by great live, local music! 2nd Annual Glow Hunt Ages 9-18, 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. at West Side Free Will Baptist Church, 1403 South Cheyenne Road in Sapulpa. Interested in a fun and different egg hunt for the kids age 9-18?  This is the event for you! This year there will be a hunt for ages 9-12 at 8:15 p.m. and a hunt for ages 13-18 at 8:45 p.m. It will be outside, rain or shine. Sunday, April 21

Easter Sunday at The Way Church, 811 West Taft in Sapulpa.  Come as you are and make plans to join them for one of 3 identical services on this special day. The first service is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., the second is from 10 to 11 a.m., and the third is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They assure you that you will experience engaging worship, creative teaching, dynamic activities for kids, and a welcoming atmosphere! Easter Breakfast from 8:30 to 9:20 a.m. at Sapulpa First Church of God, 1011 East Hastain Avenue. Tulsa 66 Ramblers 1st Annual Vintage Motorcycle Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 in Depew. This event is dedicated to motorcycles year 1990 and older. There is free admission for all, and swap meet booths and show entries are also 100% free! RV parking is free and full RV hookups are available for $20 per night. All are invited to camp out until Sunday; the facilities offer full modern showers and restrooms. Additionally, there will be a full-service bar and grille open on Saturday.
