Weekly Sports Bullets: Cross Country, Volleyball, and more!

Last week was a short week for sports, but it was still a great one! Here’s a look at what happened in Sapulpa Athletics last week!

The cross country team traveled to Booker T. Washington last Thursday and came home with some hardware!

  • Varsity Boys: 1st place
  • Varsity Girls: 3rd place
  • JV Boys: 1st place

Mason Quinton was the varsity boys champion and Jackson Harwood won the JV division! The varsity runners travel to Joplin, MO this coming Saturday to compete in the MSSU Stampede!

Volleyball

Volleyball senior night was followed by a trip to Noble on Saturday where the Lady Chieftains went 4-1, losing only to the currently ranked #1 team in 5A. Ryann Hoey was also named to the All-Tournament Team, too!

Football

Coach Holt and crew finished the non-district play by defeating Bartlesville 34-14. With that win, the Chieftains moved to 2-1 on the season. They have a bye week this week before hosting Memorial for Homecoming NEXT Friday, 9/24. 

Softball

The Lady Chieftain Softball team is back in action this week with a couple of big district games; one away at Bishop Kelley and one at home against Collinsville.
