The van belongs to Green Country Teen Challenge for Men, a faith-based program in Sapulpa.

Chet Biggs, the executive director of the Green Country Teen Challenge for Men, said eight of his students were hospitalized following the crash, which occurred about 9 p.m. on U.S. 75. Those students were released from the hospital Monday morning, he said.

“One student, we’re understanding he may have some fractures,” Biggs said. “But outside of that, everyone else is just sore.”

The group was on its way back from visiting a church near Henrietta when it began experiencing engine issues south of Glenpool. Biggs said he was driving in the right lane with his hazard lights activated at a speed of about 45 mph when they were rear-ended by a pickup.
