After years of struggle, the highly-anticipated project kicks off on Tuesday, March 4th.

The decision comes as the City learns of estimated times to complete the project and requirements to secure federal grant dollars to pay for it.

The City Council unanimously approved a resolution on Monday, May 15th to form a committee to investigate and possibly start the process of creating a "tax increment district" in Sapulpa, as a way to reimburse the cost for certain projects happening within the downtown area, mostly those associated with the Downtown Master Plan.

On Wednesday of this week, the City of Sapulpa sold another $6.3 million of the $40.235 million GO Bond package passed in January of 2022, bringing the total amount of drawn-down funds to $27.05M, or about 67%.

The traffic light is a part of the 2020 GO Bond project and well-regarded as a necessity to deter the number of traffic accidents at that intersection.
