Stephanie Pool of Central Technology Center received one of Oklahoma CareerTech’s top awards during the 49th annual Career and Technology Education Summer Conference at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City Aug. 1-2.
Pool received the 2016 Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers Outstanding Communications and Marketing Award. Oklahoma ACTE is the professional organization for the state’s CareerTech administrators, teachers and staff members.
The Communications and Marketing Award recognizes a staff member who demonstrates outstanding communications and marketing skills above and beyond normal responsibilities. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative programs that serve to improve and promote CareerTech education.
Pool has served as the director of marketing and communications at Central Tech since 2005, although she has been in the marketing industry since 1995. She has helped develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans at Central Tech every year and promoted effective employee relations and customer service. She has also developed crisis communications plans with staff training.
“Central Tech has benefited greatly from Stephanie’s expertise, dedication and attention to details in developing an outstanding marketing plan for our school. Our enrollment numbers in all areas reflect tremendous growth that can be directly attributed to the marketing strategies she has initiated,” said Ron Dyer, Central Tech superintendent.
In addition to her work at Central Tech, Pool serves as co-chairman of the Oklahoma CareerTech statewide marketing committee and has served in all officer positions in the Oklahoma CareerTech Communications and Marketing Council and as membership chairman and vice president of the OkACTE New and Related Services Division.
