Bright Prospects Indications are that Old Time Activity in the Oil Fields will be the Rule this Fall

“At no time in the history of the Sapulpa Oil Field, since the Glenn Pool was in its glory has the outlook for development and a general revival of the oil industry appeared so flattering as it does at the present time. In a talk with one of the leading oil men of the city and section a reporter learned that great preparations are being made by practically every company operating in the entire field for development and for any amount of wildcatting…Sapulpa would see a whole lot better times in the next two years than it has ever witnessed…belief that some splendid pools will be opened up southwest, west, and northwest of Sapulpa…”

Six Girls Entered in Sooner Contest

“Six Sapulpa girls have entered the Sooner Princess contest, being sponsored by the Tulsa Junior Chamber of Commerce, in connection with the Tulsa State Fair. A dinner for the group was held Wednesday evening at the St James Hotel. Those who will compete are Maxine Mathis, Evelyn Knight, Marguerite Crawford, Betty and Mary Canterbury, and Joan Lewellen.”

“The regular monthly meeting of the Sapulpa Chapter, American War Dads, was held last night at Butler’s Store. Sales of the stamps are underway, the proceeds to be used in the War Dads’ plan to help the Gold Star children of the nation…”

Sapulpa is in the Spotlight

“Sapulpa is featured in the August edition of Pep, a monthly publication of the Oklahoma Industrial development and Park Department. The Chamber of Commerce slogan ‘Programmed for Progress’ is the basis of one cover story, along with a brief history of the town and its growth. Liberty Glass, Bartlett-Collins Glass, Sapulpa Brick and Tile, Frankoma Pottery, Dow Chemical, Yeager, Inc., Wickham Packing Co. are industries featured in photographs in the paper. Industrial park sites along the Tulsa-Sapulpa Union and Frisco elopement attractions. Also mentioned are projects underway or planned by the city, such as paving, water improvements, and sewer expansion. Pep labels Sapulpa ‘a growing town, with a growth based in solid economic footing.’ The publication goes to every town in Oklahoma, and to industries throughout the United states and abroad. It has a circulation of 9,000.”
