“The name of Depew city marshall Stacy Howard was formally injected for the first time into the coming grand jury picture in a petition asking fo the disqualification of District Judge Kenneth Hughes and County Attorney Clyde Patrick in connection with the grand jury. The petition, signed by R.E. Hodge, John Henry, and Charles W. Inman, who originally initiated a petition asking Hughes to call a grand jury, bore the names of 56 county residents, most of them from Bristow, Depew, and Slick…”

“Living in the country is the way of life many people choose for the privacy, fresh air, and wide open spaces. But, country living is not necessarily convenient. Many services are overlooked simply because they are not there. ‘Liberty Educational Exposition Day,’ set for Wednesday at Liberty Mounds School, is designed to expose rural residents to available services and show how to go about getting them. At least 33 organizations will be on hand at the school between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to explain services ranging from filing legal documents to emergency needs. Assistant Superintendent Bob Cooley says the school has never undertaken a project such as this but that it will be an excellent opportunity to bring rural people together in an informative, educational setting. “Sapulpa High School’s Big Blue Band will be sporting a new look come next year…At Monday night’s school board meeting, members awarded the bid to purchase new band uniforms to Fruhauf Uniform Company. Steve Workman, band director, recommended purchasing 265 uniforms although bids were based on 285 uniforms…Fruhauf Uniform Company was one of three bidders for uniforms. Their bid was $93,845. DeMoulin Uniform Company’s bid was $90,845. And the third bidder was Cunningham Parade Wear with a bid of $101,045…”
