“The Sapulpa Junior High basketball team hosts Sand Springs Central Thursday in seventh, eighth, and ninth grade action. The game will be the home opener for the Little Chiefs, with action slated to begin for the seventh grade at 5 pm in the Sapulpa High School gym.”

Wednesday, December 13, 2000, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Turnpike Dedication Scheduled for Friday

“Snow may cover the Creek Turnpike Extension this morning, but city and county officials are preparing the Friday opening of the thoroughfare for the first time. ‘We have several accesses to Tulsa from Sapulpa, but this is the crowning jewel,’ said Greg Pugmire, a member of the Creek County Industrial Authority. ‘The Turnpike extension turns out to be at the confluence of two roads at the Otis Rule Industrial Park and gives us access to the park. It’s the only one in the state.’…A dedication ceremony for the Creek West Turnpike Extension has been scheduled for 10:30 am Friday to dedicate the five-mile stretch of road. Then the road will be opened for traffic…The Creek West Extension has cost an estimated $71 million dollars…”

“Sapulpa’s Alyssia Brewer couldn’t miss Tuesday in an 83-26 win over Frontier Conference foe Ponca City at the Chieftain Center. Actually, she missed three shots – three out of 17…Tatum Beer and Holly Birmingham scored 13 points each and also got to take a break in the fourth…The No. 1-ranked Lady Chieftains scored 21 points in the second quarter, due to Brewer’s 12 points on 6-for-6 shooting from the field…The No. 1-ranked Lady Chieftains will host Sand Springs Friday at the Chieftain Center.”

“The Kellyville Cafe at 67 E Buffalo St, was the site of the ‘Christmas Mystery Theater,’ a free dinner theater for local kids and their families. The cafe was decked out in holiday splendor, complete with Christmas tree, presents, hundreds of twinkling lights, and a lush setting for Santa Claus to sit with the children…The hostess for the evening was Paige McRae, ‘Culinary Teammate,’ whose son, Tim, owns the cafe. She and her waitstaff were dressed as elves, except for one who was the Grinch…The musical entertainment was provided by ‘Blessed 7,’ a singinging family whose great-grandmother was the famous Mother Grace Tucker of Tulsa…”
