Sports Bullets: Lady Chieftains to host volleyball, plus the latest news from Football, Softball and Band

The Lady Chieftain volleyball team moved up to #5 in 5A in the last rankings of the year, giving them the right to host a regional for the first time in the program’s history! Games will be played in the Chieftain Center. Here’s the schedule:

Game 1: Sapulpa vs. Rogers – 4:30 pm
Game 2: Glenpool vs. Shawnee – 6:00 pm
Game 3 (Regional Championship): winner of game 1 vs. winner of game 2 – 7:30 pm

For Chieftain fans out of town, the Sapulpa games will be live-streamed on Chieftain TV: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLbRFNUbWYtB2qnv-NaI08g 
Admission is $5 for all ages. Also, we will let Sapulpa students in 9th – 12th grades in for free, BUT, they MUST have their school ID on.

Softball

The Lady Chieftain softball season came to an end Friday as the Chieftains fell to the defending state champions of Coweta. We are extremely proud of this program and all they accomplished this year!

Cross Country 

The Chieftain cross country team will travel to Bartlesville on Tuesday to compete in the FVC Championships.
4:00 PM – Varsity Girls – 5K
4:30 PM – Varsity Boys – 5K
5:00 PM – JV Girls – 5K 
5:30 PM – JV Boys – 5K
6:00 PM – JH Girls – 2 Miles
6:30 PM – JH Boys – 2 Miles

Football

The men of Sapulpa football fell in a tough game against Tahlequah last Friday night. The men are back home this THURSDAY as Tulsa Hale travels to town. The Blue Crew theme is construction/neon if you want to participate! Good luck, men! 

Band

The Big Blue Band had a very successful weekend hosting the 4A OBA State Championships. Big #chieftainstrong thanks to all students, parents, and other volunteers who made the day go so smoothly. Two more weeks until our own 5A OBA State Championships in Yukon! 

Theater

Congrats to Mrs. Braswell and the One-Act crew as they finished 4th, with Maggie Lawson getting an All-Star actor award in Ponca City this weekend. Congrats!
