Sports Bullets: Big Blue Band brings home hardware, Softball Regionals start this week and more

Two weeks in a row for the Big Blue Band to be bringing home some hardware. They bring home 2nd place from the Bixby Tournament of Bands that took place yesterday. They received the “Fan Favorite” award from prelims.  Very excited for this group of hardworking staff and students!!

Softball

Softball regionals start this week for the Lady Chieftains as they travel to Coweta. Their first game is Thursday at 2 pm against Shawnee. Here’s the bracket.

Volleyball

Volleyball wraps up their season this week as they travel to Bixby on Monday and then to BA on Thursday. Regionals begin next week. We will know tomorrow or Tuesday morning if we get to host. Also, the JH and 9th-grade teams will be competing in the FVC Championships this week. Good luck, ladies!

Football

Football travels to Tahlequah this Friday for week 3 of district play. The Chieftains are sitting at 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the district. They are looking to avenge last Friday’s loss to No. 1 Collinsville as they take on the Tahlequah Tigers.

Cross Country

Nick Williams

The varsity cross country team traveled to the University of Arkansas Saturday to compete in the Chili Pepper Cross Country Festival. Middle school teacher and cross country alumni, Mr. Nick Williams, started the day off with a 10K win in the open Godpepper race! The varsity boys’ and girls’ teams competed against teams from as far away as Oregon! They will travel to OBU this week.
