See the winners from the Catfish Season Opener Derby

On Saturday, April 17, Sapulpa Parks and Recreation hosted a fishing derby to kick off the 2021 catfish season at Pretty Water Lake. The weather was overcast and chilly, but several hardy anglers showed up and the catfish were certainly biting. Prizes were offered in the age 16 and under category and the adult category every hour starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 12 noon.

The First Place winner in the age 16 and under category at 9 a.m. was Jaiden Dicus with a 2lb. 12 oz. catfish and the Second Place winner was Wyatt Lamb with an 11 oz. catfish. The adult winner was Joshua Harris with a 4 lb. 6oz. catfish.

The winner in the age 16 and under category at 10 a.m. was Jaiden Dicus with a 5lb. 15 oz. catfish. The adult winner was Rod Mina with 6lb. 11 oz. catfish.

The First Place winner in the age 16 and under category at 11 a.m. was Jaiden Dicus, with a 1 lb 9 oz. catfish. The Second Place winner was Beau, with a 1 lb  ¾ oz. catfish. The Third Place winner was AJ Seward with a 12 ⅜ oz. catfish. The adult winner was Dewayne Elifrits with a 12 ⅛ oz. catfish.

The First Place winner in the 16 and under category at 12 noon was Jaiden Dicus with an 8lb. 5 oz. catfish. The Second Place winner was Conner Schumacher with a 1lb. 8 oz. catfish. The adult winner was Shelby Thiede with a 3 lb. 13 oz. catfish.
