Sapulpa woman pleads not guilty to charges of embezzlement

A Sapulpa woman who has been arrested and charged on two separate cases of embezzlement has pled not guilty to both charges, according to court documents.

Myra Flores-Harmon, a former teacher at Lone Star, was charged in March with embezzling nearly $30,000 from the Lone Star Booster Club.

As reported by the Sapulpa Times in March, Harmon allegedly used the money to help pay for a cruise, make deposits into her own PayPal account, and reportedly took funds that had been raised for a teacher diagnosed with cancer.

Later, new charges were added by the Creek County District Attorney after an investigation by the Kellyville Police Department concluded that Harmon had embezzled about $2500 from the Kellyville Quarterback Club from August to October of 2024.

In November of 2024, Kellyville Athletic Director Kevin Nance said that Harmon sent a letter saying she was “sorry for the situation,” and that she was planning to pay restitution to the organization through her teacher retirement account.

As of August 5th, Harmon has pleaded not guilty to both sets of charges.
