(SPS) – The cap was officially placed on the 2018 United Way campaign with the Live United Awards and Luncheon in downtown Tulsa on Tuesday afternoon.

The campaign raised $25,326,613 for the community, surpassing the goal by $72,000. And Sapulpa Public Schools was part of the success.

The 305 employees who participated in our campaign donated $32,282.98 this year. That total was an increase of 32 percent over 2017 and employee participation increased 28 percent year to year.

Because of the generous donations and efforts of our employees, our district was nominated for the Green Country Business Award. This award is reserved for a company that increased the size of its campaign over the previous year, demonstrated volunteer involvement and followed the prescribed steps to a successful campaign. We were nominated along with Consolidated Turbine Specialists and OG&E. CTS was announced as the winner.

We may not have pulled out the win, but Sapulpa Public Schools was one of only three schools to be nominated in one of the nine award categories. That speaks to the generosity and sense of community our employees displayed this year.

Congratulations, Chieftains. Thank you for your participation! Let’s do it again next year.
