Steven Kinman, 46, was arrested Oct. 22 after he barricaded himself inside a house in the 300 block of South Walnut Street in Sapulpa and refused to come out, prompting a SWAT response, according to Sapulpa Police Capt. Troy Foreman and a probable cause affidavit sworn by Sapulpa Police Officer Kyle Masters.

The affidavit lists five anticipated charges: assault and battery with a deadly weapon, domestic assault and battery by strangulation, kidnapping, interfering with a 911 call and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.

According to the affidavit, Masters was sent to a Sapulpa emergency room about 9:18 a.m. after hospital staff reported a woman had been stabbed, strangled and beaten. She told Masters that Kinman had asked her to come to his home the night before so they could “work things out.” She said she woke up to Kinman stabbing her in the hand with a kitchen knife. Masters wrote that he saw two puncture wounds on her left hand consistent with stab wounds, and bruising on her face, arms, neck and throat consistent with being struck and choked.

She told Masters that Kinman repeatedly said he would kill her and took her phone so she could not call 911. She said he told her, “You are gonna die tonight” and “you are not gonna make it to the morning.” She waited for him to fall asleep and got out of the house about 4 a.m., according to the affidavit.
