Sapulpa man arrested for allegedly molesting two girls, aged 12 and 16

Sapulpa police arrested a man they say groped two girls on two separate occasions at the same Dollar General store over the last few days.

Police say the incidents happened at the Dollar General store located in the Edge/former Town West district, near 49th and W Skelly Drive.

James Michael Alexander, 39, was arrested on Tuesday, August 13th after he reportedly groped a 12-year-old little girl who was in line at the Dollar General to buy a toy for her little brother.

“She walked up to the counter to pay for the toy that she’d got for her brother, and while she was at the counter with her back to the suspect, he reached forward and groped her, and then took off out the door,” Detective Randal Arnold told Fox23 on Wednesday.

Sapulpa police say that Alexander did the same thing on Sunday, at the same Dollar General store, to a 16-year-old girl.

About three hours after the Wednesday event, Sapulpa police found Alexander at a nearby motel, where he was arrested and booked into Tulsa County jail on sexual battery and lewd molestation charges, as well as failure to register as a sex offender.

Records show that Alexander had just been released from prison in June after serving nearly two years for sexual battery and indecent exposure.
