Sapulpa Junior High Cross Country Sweeps the All Star Championship

Our Junior high cross country teams went to the junior high all star meet over fall break, Here is a recap:

Friday, October 20th, at Woodson Park in Oklahoma City, Sapulpa Junior high boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Junior High All Star meet. For the first time ever, Sapulpa Junior high boys and girls teams both won the Jr High All Star championship. This is a back to back win for the girls, who were also team champions in 2016.

This is a great continuation of success for the boys, who won the Junior High Frontier Conference trophy last week. Stailee Heard led the girls with a 3rd place finish, with Ella Chaffin finishing 4th, and Taylor Bilby bringing home 10th place. The boys had five runners finish in the top 12. Mason Quinton was 3rd, Evan Quinton was 4th, Brendan Gomez 6th, Wyatt Daniels 10th, and Edgar Borjas was 12th.

Coach Lusk said, “I am extremely proud of these athletes and very happy for them. They have been working since July 19th. This is a talented, gutsy, hard-working group of young people who deserve all the credit.”
