After Sapulpa declined to do a fireworks show for 2026, many residents are wondering where to turn for a family-friendly fireworks display for the nation’s 250th birthday. We’ve compiled the best options, and there are plenty that are just a short drive from Sapulpa.

The Tulsa Drillers’ Stars & Stripes Weekend kicks off the team’s three-game Independence Day celebration at ONEOK Field. Stick around after the game for a postgame fireworks show.
Saturday, June 27
Kellyville
The Kellyville Freedom Festival features bounce houses, food trucks, local vendors and family activities before a fireworks show after dark. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Glenpool
The Red, White & Boom Bash returns to 1122 E. 156th St. S. with family activities, food and a fireworks show beginning at 10 p.m.

After being postponed because of weather, the Mounds Fourth of July Festival will take place at Neely-Anderson Veterans Memorial Park beginning at 4 p.m. The event features live music, food and drinks, games, family activities and a fireworks finale after dark.
Can you still shoot fireworks in Sapulpa?
Sapulpa will not host a city-sponsored fireworks show this year, but fireworks are still permitted in city limits, and a permit can be purchased at City Hall, for a cost of $25. Fireworks are only allowed July 3-4th from noon to 10:59PM.
