Sapulpa Aquatics Center gate admission is $1.00 off, this weekend only!

The Sapulpa Parks Department has announced that they’ll be lowering the price of admission by $1.00 for the weekend of June 18th as a “thank you” to everyone for their patience over the last couple of weeks.

In reality, the Parks Department has had a rough couple of months. Sapulpa Parks Director Jody Baker left for a new job in Broken Arrow in mid-April, and continued rains pushed back the opening of the new inclusive playground near Liberty Park. To top it off, the Sapulpa’s Aquatics director abruptly departed on the day the pool was supposed to open, and for the last week or more, the credit card machines at the aquatics center have been down.

All that has forced Recreation Leader Susan Bencke to step into a role far surpassing her responsibilities, as she and the others have been working to find a new Aquatics director, fix issues at the pool, and get things back on track with other park projects. Finally, the city hired a replacement director (see that announcement below) and the credit card machines are working again!

Bencke says that to say thanks for the patience, and to welcome the new director, they’re offering a lower gate admission for Friday through Sunday “Bring lots of sunscreen,” she says. “Stay hydrated, and we’ll see you at the pool!”

We’ve posted their full weekly schedule below, as well. If you have additional questions, call 918-227-5151.
