Robert Borgstadt is moving from one sideline to another in one of the area’s most exciting high school football rivalries.
A Sand Springs assistant for the past five years, Borgstadt, 43, is the consensus choice of Sapulpa’s hiring committee to be the school’s next head football coach.
“We think we’ve got a good one. He was obviously instrumental in helping turn Sand Springs around,” Sapulpa athletic director Jason Parker said Friday.
As co-defensive coordinator for two years and defensive coordinator for the last three, Borgstadt built the defensive unit that was a major factor in Sand Springs’ Class 6A Division II runner-up finish in 2015.
