Reed Architecture hires interior designer

SAPULPA – Reed Architecture and Interiors has hired its fourth interior designer: Abigail Jamison.

“Abby is a great addition to our team,” said David Reed, founder and principal of Sapulpa-based Reed Architecture. “She has a wonderful attitude and is eager to learn and grow in her career.”

Jamison graduated from Sand Springs’ Charles Page High School in 2018. Four years later, the 25-year-old Sapulpan received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, having accomplished two years of intern interior design work while a student. She then spent two-plus years studying office furniture design and application with regional dealer Scott Rice.

“I’ve always loved interior design,” said Abby, who is pursuing her professional license. “I grew up watching HGTV, DIY Network, and other home renovation shows. I would rearrange my room each night, trying to make it a better space. I started my studies with a high school course on interior design and have stuck with it ever since.”

Abby traces that interest to her parents’ artistic pursuits.

“Art runs in the family,” she said of her mother, a teacher, and her father, a police officer. “I feel like that led me into this career. I always wanted to do something art-related.

“I read a lot,” she added, “and I have a lot of bookshelves around my house. I also draw a lot, and I paint. I have tons of art supplies. And I crochet. Really, any artistic pastime you can think of, I’ve probably done.”

She learned of Reed Architecture from friends and LinkedIn posts. She felt drawn to Reed from the firm’s community activities. RAI’s work with Sapulpa Public Schools’ new high school also caught her eye.

“Education is a passion of mine,” said Abby, who married her husband Chase in 2020. “Good interior designs help teachers and students become what they want to be. I want to be a part of that.”

Abby’s values fit well with Reed Architecture’s “Serve by Design” philosophy, said David Reed. Her interests complement RAI’s “mind, body, and soul” focus on education, athletic, recreational, and spiritual projects.

“Our team is excited to welcome Abby and grateful for her passion for design and serving our community,” said Reed.
