Local leaders met at the newly-christened Rock Creek Golf Course on Historic Route 66 on a breezy Thursday afternoon to celebrate the renaming of what had previously been known as simply “the Sapulpa Municipal Golf Course.”
Golf Course Director David McBride told the crowd that had gathered, “This is a pretty big deal for us. It’s a vision we’ve had since I started here and it’s finally coming true.” McBride said he “wanted to prove everybody wrong who said it would never be anything other than ‘the Sapulpa Golf Course.'”
McBride said the rebranding effort is just a part of a larger effort to rebuild the golf course from the inside out. “You can’t rebrand something that isn’t rebuilt. We want to become known as the best golf course around this area, that’s our vision.”
