Recently there has been a plethora of posts on social media complaining about discoloration in Sapulpa tap water. One citizen posted a picture of a cup of water that looks distinctly yellow. Other people have reported the water being somewhat brown in color.

The Sapulpa Times interviewed Steve Hardt, Sapulpa Public Works Director, to obtain an explanation for the off-color water. Hardt said, “Skiatook Lake is the main water supply for the City of Sapulpa and the lake has recently turned over. We’ve had to increase treatment because of the mud in the water.” The public works director emphasized that the water is safe to drink.
