Sapulpa police have arrested three unnamed individuals after an early-afternoon pursuit of a van allegedly stolen out of Norman comes to an end in a quiet Sapulpa neighborhood.
The call came through from Norman police at about 1:15 p.m. after a dealership alerted police about a 2016 white Dodge Caravan the owner had reported stolen. Sapulpa police were told the vehicle was in west Tulsa and about to enter Sapulpa City limits.
Officer Mark Hulett says they caught up to the vehicle at about Frankoma Road and Mission Street, where they attempted a traffic stop and the suspects fled, turning east on E Perkins Avenue, then north on N Moccasin Place, and finally pulling over near N Moccasin Place and E Cobb Ave. Approaching the van with guns drawn, police were able to peacefully remove three suspects from the vehicle. At least two of the three suspects are juveniles, and one was possibly an adult, but that’s not been confirmed. Hulett said he doesn’t believe that the suspects have any ties to Sapulpa.
Police also recovered from the vehicle a .40 caliber pistol and a .9 millimeter pistol, as well as ammo for a .45 caliber pistol, but no gun to match it. The suspects are facing at least one possible felony charge on the stolen vehicle, and possibly others regarding the weapons. With the suspects being juveniles, it’s unlikely the police or the DA’s office will be able to release any additional information.
