Nearly two dozen teams booked out Sahoma Lanes last night to show their support for Youth Services of Creek County, and had a great time doing it.

This year’s theme was “Rock and Roll,” encouraging teams to dress up as their favorite old-school rock musicians or bands. Trophies were painted and hilariously decorated bowling pins handed out for numerous achievements:

The Cash Cow Award – A Willie Nelson trophy for which team raised the most money, complete with a hat full of money.

The Pin Busters Award – A Jimi Hendrix trophy for the team with the highest score, and yes, the trophy included his famous upside down guitar.

The Best Dressed Award – A Gene Simmons Kiss trophy…because who else could it be?

The Bumpers Needed Award – A special two-sided pin, one side is Milli and the other is Vanilli. This one came with it’s own “Blame It On The Rain” accessory. This trophy went to the team with the lowest score, or in the event of a tie, the team that could give the best lip-synching performance.

Sapulpa Times was part of this event, and we were sure we’d take the lowest score trophy, but we somehow managed to beat the B-52’s, who won not only won the Lowest Score trophy, but also won Best Costume!

Carletti Dentistry won the Cash Cow Award, and the Creek County Sheriff’s Office won the highest score, to nobody’s surprise—the Sheriff’s name is Brett Bowling.

Gene Parnell, not pictured, won the Sara Lund Community Service Award. Twenty three teams participated and raised over $11,000, which will be used to serve clients across the county.

Additional games and prizes were available to those who participated in a raffle or answered trivia questions correctly. Bowlers were treated to these awesome guitar-shaped cookies.

Erin Brook, Executive Director of YSCC expressed a lot of gratitude to the teams, who consistently show up year after year to raise the money needed for their services. “We simply could not provide the services we do without the generosity of our community,” she said.

Last year Youth Services of Creek County served 619 with a goal this year to serve 1000 through their Prevention and Bartlett Shelter Program. Learn about how to donate to their cause here.
