A series of grassfires spreading at an alarming rate had multiple agencies working to get the blaze under control on Tuesday afternoon.

Creek County Commissioner Newt Stephens said that high winds were to blame for the rapid spreading of the fires as every agency on hand was fighting the blaze, struggling to contain it.

Above, a helicopter could be seen carrying a large bucket to the fire.

Among the black charred earth of several properties were the remains of trees and buildings, now reduced to rubble and glowing embers.
