Vernon Ray Curry was born May 9, 1950 to Aubrey and Sarah Belle Curry in Bristow, Oklahoma. He departed this life July 8, 2019 at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 29 days.
He was a 1968 graduate of Bristow High School. He then attended Oklahoma State University for a few years before going to work in the oilfield. He was currently self-employed Chromatography, analyzing natural gas.
On October 25, 2005 Vernon Curry and Julie LaBrecque were united in marriage. He loved to cook out with family, especially smoking bologna. He enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle, attending Oklahoma Sooner football games and playing poker with his friends. He also loved traveling around the state to see his grandson, Tyler and his friends play baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Julie LaBrecque-Curry of the Bristow home; one daughter, Courtney Lauth and husband Chris of Yukon; three step daughters, Lindsey Jones and husband Chris of Bristow, Brittany Cooksey of Owasso, Sheriden LaBrecque of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Payton and Presley Cooksey, Emma Nail, Tyler Lawrence and Jo Jones; three cousins, Shirley Mills and husband Michael, Wade Cearley and wife Marsha and Laronda McBrayer. He was preceded in death by his parents, one aunt, Vinita Bishop and one cousin, Boyd McBrayer.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Bristow First Church of God with Reverend Tim Bush officiating. Interment will follow at the Welty Cemetery.
