Valeta Carroll Boyd of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, since 1931, departed this life the morning of October 17, 2022 at the age of 100 years and 5 months old, in her home of 70 years. Valeta was born in Vera, Oklahoma to Roy and Walksie Carroll on May 18, 1922.

Valeta accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior on November 20, 1931 and was baptized on her mother’s birthday, November 29, 1931. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, involved in missions, making mission trips to Ghana, West Africa, Nicaragua, Central America and in Florida, Wyoming and Colorado. She and her sister, Anita, also made a trip to Israel.

She graduated valedictorian of the class of 1940 from Sapulpa High School. Valeta married Lloyd R. Boyd on February 28, 1944 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She worked as an executive secretary in downtown Tulsa for many years during the oil boom.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd; her Godly parents Roy and Walksie Carroll; sisters, Kathleen Loflin, Anita Langley, Burnidine Martin, and her brother Wayne Carroll. She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as a host of dear friends.

For the last 11 years of her life, she was lovingly cared for by her niece and nephew Marion and Art Windsor. Marion is the daughter of her sister, Anita Langley.

Valeta is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, and treasured friends
