Shirley Nadine Tifft Hoover was born on October 20, 1933 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Louis Hudson Tifft and MaeBelle Buckner. She went to be with her lord and savior on July 23, 2022 with her husband, “Oh, Bob”, the love of her life by her side, just as he had been for 71½ years.

Shirley is predeceased in death by her parents, Louis and MaeBelle Tifft; her brothers James Robbins and Richard Tifft; her sister, Carolyn Reynolds and her Great-Grandson, Anthony Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband, Bobby G. Hoover Sr; her daughter Vicky Lynn & Daniel Rodriguez of Bakersfield, CA; Son, Bobby G. Hoover Jr of Bakersfield, CA; 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Bob Tifft of Tulsa, OK; Jerry and Barbara Tifft & Matilda Gregory all of Sapulpa, OK;  MaryJo Moss of Bakersfield, CA;  Della Helsley of Shafter, CA; William & Jane Tifft of Maricopa, AZ;  and a “train load” of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors, all of whom she longs to see in Glory.

Shirley graduated from Sapulpa High in 1951 and married Bob in 1951; moved to CA in 1960; returned to OK in 1978; returned to CA a few years later and lived in Bakersfield, CA for the past 26 years.

As the eldest girl of the family, Shirley worked most of her life helping her mother with housework and her 8 younger siblings. Her married life was focused & dedicated to making the best possible home for Bob and the kids.  She was fiercely independent and strived to be self-sufficient to the very end. These few words could never sufficiently represent her 88 years of living because the story of her love, kindness, and concern for others could fill a book.

A Memorial Service will be held at Traditions Funeral Home, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, on Thursday, August 4 at 10am followed by interment at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa OK.   A Reception for family and friends will follow at the First Church of God, 1011 E. Hastain, Sapulpa
