Robert William Thornton 74, of Bristow went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 12, 1944 in Claremore to Joel and Goldie Thornton. He met the love of his life Carolyn Case and they recently celebrated 56 years of marriage.
He was employed by Imco as a supervisor and retired after 15 years.
He was a member of the Sapulpa Holiness Church. Robert enjoyed in his spare time, hunting, gardening and spending time with his grandkids. He had a caring and compassionate heart and was always willing to give a helping hand. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn of the home; children; Robert Thornton Jr, and wife Rhonda, Audra Bryant and husband RB and Russell Thornton, grandchildren; Rachelle, Robin, Tyler, Cecilia, Elisha, Catharyn, & Brileigh, great grandchildren; Avery, Ellery and Remy, brothers; Leon and Charles Thornton, sisters; Lola Surrell, Mary Cantrell, Judy Christie, Diane Thornton, Ruby Roberts, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 13 Siblings
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, July 8, 2019 and Funeral Services following at 10 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 both to be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK. Interment to follow at Okmulgee Cemetery, 2017 Wood Dr, Okmulgee, OK 74447. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK.
