Richard Dewayne Clay, 64, of Kiefer departed from this life on Friday, November 16, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK. He was born on December 12, 1953 in Tulsa, OK to Charles W. and Carrie Lucille (Cowart) Clay. His job was being a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer for 40 plus years.

He graduated from high school in San Diego, California. He served his country in the U. S. Navy on the USS AJAX from 1975-1978.

Richard and Linda married on September 3, 2003.

He loved Nascar or any kind of racing with grandkids. He also loved riding motorcycles with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda D. Clay of the home; son, Johnny Lawrence and wife, Amber; grandchildren, Gage, Nathan, Hailey, Ryan, Miracle and Ryder Lawrence, Clarissa Draven; great-grandchildren, Adrian M. Lawrence; brother, Redd Carson of Kellyville; and sister, Liz Berry and husband, Danny of Tulsa.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Higher Ground Believers Church, 4501 W 8th St, Tulsa, OK 74127. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK.
