Ralph Edmond Mackey Jr. was born on May 26, 1961 to Lusta Ann Obie and Ralph Edmond Mackey Sr. in Kansas City, Missouri.
Ralph was introduced to his Lord and Savior at a young age at Flipper Chapel AME Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. In 1979, Ralph graduated from Sapulpa High School, where he was an active participant in the Student Council serving as President and a member of the NAACP. Ralph began his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University majoring in Finance before transferring to the University of Maryland at Baltimore County to receive a bachelor’s degree in business.
Ralph started working at the young age of fifteen, riding his bike two miles each way rain or shine to Tru Discount Foods to sack groceries. Tru Discount is where he learned his work ethic that followed him for a lifetime. The bike riding stopped after a year when he purchased his first car, a mint green Vega, which he named “Mine.” Ralph was a career tele-communication executive salesman, working as a Senior Accounts Manager at Windstream Communications until his health declined.
Ralph’s hobbies included traveling, golfing, Ravens football and advising friends and family on money management. Ralph traveled all around the world with his trip to Paris, France a lifelong dream trip that he made twice. Ralph had an infectious laugh and two deep dimps with the biggest smile that we will never forget.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents: Mother, Lusta Davis, Father, Ralph Edmond Mackey Sr., Stepfather, Lorrell Davis.
Ralph is survived by Stepmother, Joyce Mackey, of North Carolina. Brothers, Victor (Tonya) Mackey, Virginia Beach, VA, Ronald (Barbara) Mackey San Diego CA, Sisters, Sherri Mackey, Sapulpa OK, Terri (Bernard) Dansby, Sapulpa Ok, Felcia Burnett, Waldorf MD. Kim (David) Baugh, Waldorf MD and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces and Nephews and Cousins.
