Pauline May Langham, 88, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, passed away on October 7, 2018, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after complications following a heart attack.
She was born on December 23, 1929 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to Paul and Laura Townsend. She was an only child, and was much loved. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where Pauline was also Homecoming Queen in 1950. She met her “Tommy” at Southeastern and they started dating in January 1950. Pauline always joked she went to college to earn her M.R.S. (which she did in 1952).
Pauline married Thomas Langham on January 19, 1952 in Antlers, Oklahoma. They had two daughters, Barbara and Jana, and lived a nearly perfect life for almost 62 years.
She was a lifelong member of Presbyterian churches, growing up in several throughout California, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, where her father taught and preached. She had a strong faith that she passed on to her daughters and the rest of her family.
Her sly sense of humor, kind demeanor, and stable presence made an impression on all who met her and will be just some of the things that are missed most about her.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara (Jeff) Murphy, of the home, Glenpool, OK; and Jana (Ron) Osborn, Belton, MO. Grandchildren: Jason Campbell, Christopher (Cassandra) Murphy, Joplin, MO; Angela (James) Brock, Pleasant Hill, MO; Sabrina Osborn, Overland Park, KS; Curtis Norris, Sapulpa, OK, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Langham and granddaughter Laura Norris.
The memorial service will be Friday, October 12, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa. Her ashes will be interred in the columbarium at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa Memorial Fund (http://www.fpcsapulpa.org or 111 S Oak St, Sapulpa, OK 74066).
