Patsy Louise (Englen) Hardy passed away on February 16, 2020 at the Evergreen Adult Family Home in Seattle, Washington. She was born June 8, 1933 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Oris and Irene (Gibson) Englen. Pat married Wendell Clair Hardy in 1949. They established their home in Sapulpa, and soon welcomed two sons to their family – Randy in 1949 and Rick in 1951. A few years later Wendell became ill and passed away, leaving Pat a widow at the young age of 24, with two young boys to raise. She had many challenges being a single mom, but with the support of the Englen’s and Hardy’s, she persevered, and was a great mom to her sons, and had a rewarding career in resort-hotel management and human resources. She eventually moved to the west coast, where she lived and worked in Albuquerque, Phoenix, San Diego, Marina Del Rey, and San Francisco. She returned to Sapulpa in 1996 to care for her mother, and after Irene passed away in 2002, she moved to Seattle, Washington.

Pat will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend who was fiercely independent, completely courageous, confidently sophisticated, a little bit sassy, and steadfastly loyal, kind and generous. She had a fun-loving ornery streak, too! We loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Clair Hardy, in 1958, by her parents Oris Englen in 1969, Irene Englen in 2002, and by her brother, Oris Eugene Englen in 2001.

She is survived by her two sons, Randy Michael Hardy (Pamela) of Snohomish, Washington, and Richard Allen Hardy (Joyce) of Azle, Texas. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Cassandra Lynn (Hardy) Boyles (Jared) of Snead’s Ferry, North Carolina, and Chad Allen Hardy of Jacksonville, Alabama, and eight great-grandchildren, Kairis Pamela Boyles, Daxton Beau Boyles, Brinlyn Claire Boyles, Everlee Edna Boyles, Richard Allen Hardy, Ashley Ann (Hardy) Miller, Alexis Marie Hardy, and Chad Allen Hardy, Jr. And she would want special mention of her life-long friend, and friend of the family, Joyce Judy of Salem, Oregon.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery with Pastor Scott Hamilton of Foundation Church officiating.
