Patricia Louise Parker

Patricia Louise Parker (Patty), 85, affectionately known as Mamaw, was called home to her Lord on September 26, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and so much more to those that knew and loved her.

Patty was born December 2, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John F. Stephens Sr. and Ina A. Stephens. She was the second eldest of their five children: John, Glenda, Joe and Joy. In 1955 she graduated from Sapulpa High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Delious E. Parker (Gene), on June 21, 1958, at North Heights Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. They were married 65 years, 3 months and 5 days. Gene and Patty were inseparable. Where you saw one, you were sure to see the other. Their love for each other was a beautiful example of what it looks like to live out your wedding vows and what “til death do we part” really means.

Gene and Patty lovingly raised their two daughters, Cindy and Gina, in their hometown of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Patty did secretarial work throughout her life, but her role as mother and housewife took precedence and was most important to her. On Sunday mornings, you could find Gene and Patty in the balcony seating of First Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and even when they couldn’t attend church any longer, they still paid their tithes faithfully. Patty loved all the kids, and that was evident by the way she lit up when she’d see them.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ina Stephens, her sister, Glenda Horton and several other family members. She is survived by her husband Gene; daughter Cindy and daughter Gina and husband Jesse; grandchildren Hannah Marcum and husband Shawn, Heather and husband Adam, Taylor and wife Tori, Jayden, Ty, and Briah; great-grandchildren Jack, Zaiden, Emmitt, Nolan, Mila, Nyla, Ruby and Parker.
