Patricia Lopez

Patricia Ann Lopez (Marshall), age 81, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2021.

She leaves behind her three children; David Joseph Lopez, Jr., Iris Ann Philbeck, Jeffrey Alan Lopez and his wife, Lisa Wheat, as well as her two grandchildren; Gabriel Benjamin Philbeck and Joseph Alan Philbeck. Patricia is survived by her sisters, Rosemary Clark and Beverly Naifeh.

She is predeceased by her parents Ralph Marshall Sr., Iris Marshall, her brother, Ralph Marshall Jr. and as her husband David Joseph Lopez Sr.

Patricia was born on February 5, 1940 in Paducah, Illinois. After graduating from Sapulpa High School she went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. While stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, she met her husband David Joseph Lopez, Sr. He was the love of her life and they were married for 53 years before his passing in 2018. Patricia moved back to Oklahoma after her husband’s retirement from the Marine Corps in 1974. She raised her three children and later worked as a teller at American Heritage Bank for many years until her retirement. Nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

She loved to sew and many family members were the recipients of her creations. Many of these became family heirlooms such as christening gowns and beautiful quilts. Patricia attended and was active at the First Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa for many years.

At the end of her life as her dementia progressed, she took great comfort in singing and listening to classic church hymns and Christmas songs. Patricia’s entire life revolved around her family. Her love and nurturing enveloped us all and that legacy will live on through her loved ones.

Family and friends may send online condolences at www.smithfhs.com. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the First Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa.
