Maridell (McGuire) Johnson, 79 of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2018 at The Gardens Nursing home in Sapulpa, OK. She was born Thursday, September 29, 1938 in Kellyville Oklahoma to Clint and Willie (Lawson) McGuire.

She was a graduate of Kellyville High School and worked outside the home for many years in various roles. Her first job was a telephone operator and later she worked at Bartlett Memorial Hospital, Oklahoma Natural Gas, Sapulpa Tag Office, Bristow Tag Office, Bartlett Collins, but her favorite she found later in life was selling real estate. She loved interacting with people, was a natural salesperson and loved making the “sale”. She was a devoted wife, mother and her favorite Nanny. Her hobbies included fishing, gardening and sewing. Hand quilting was a favorite and she made all her kids and grandkids quilts.

She was a devoted Christian and was lifelong member of Westside Freewill Baptist Church in Sapulpa. She loved her church and church family and was a Sunday school teacher for many years teaching the young people.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Floyd L. Johnson, her son Steven Randall Mathews, her father Clint McGuire, mother Willie McGuire, 3 brothers, Marvin, Millard (Preach) and Melvin McGuire.

She is survived by her son, Douglas L. Johnson of Kellyville, Rhonda S. Wright and husband William (Bill) Wright of Denver, CO., sisters, Mildred Warnock of Bristow, OK, Marzetta and her husband Marland Armitage of Bristow, OK,. Grandson Christoper F. Clark and wife Jennifer of Mounds, OK. Granddaughter, Stephanie S. Johnson and finance Rocky Wilson of Inola, OK, granddaughter Meagan D. and husband Russell Wagner of Tulsa, grandson Daniel R. Johnson of Kellyville, OK. Granddaughter Hilerey and husband Aaron Polliard of Tulsa, granddaughter Sara Keizor, of Sapulpa, OK. Great Grandchildren, Madilyn Johnson, Autumn Robinson, Jonathan Robinson, Carysn Clark, Alison Wagner, Alexander Polliard, Charlotte Wagner, Jocelyn Polliard, Togie Melville. A host of nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Westside Freewill Baptist Church, 1403 S. Cheyenne Rd, Sapulpa, OK. Interment to follow at Sunrise Cemetery, Kellyville, OK. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK.
